GRAND BLANC, MI GROUP CLASSES
We offer a variety of group classes. Below, you will find descriptions with how long each class runs, and the cost. You will also find a list with upcoming dates and times for each class. Our classes have no more than four dogs per class, so you can feel assured that you will receive the best experience to learn with your dog. Feel free to contact us with further questions. AKC Canine Good Citizen Classes
These classes are designed to recognize dogs who have good manners at home
and in the community. This rapidly growing nationally recognized program stresses responsible dog guardianship for caregivers. It helps caregivers teach basic training and good manners for their dogs. All dogs who pass the 10 step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
Who can participate?
CGC is open to all dogs; purebred and mixed breed. There are no age limits for participating in the Canine Good Citizen Class, because yes, you can always teach an old dog new tricks!
With that being said, we also know that training a puppy can be very different than training an adult dog. Check out our specialized training program for puppies, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, which teaches the basics to get your puppy off to a good start and is an excellent first in-person training class.

S.T.A.R. Puppy Class (STAR)
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get caregivers and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. This class provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title.
Training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy. Organized training classes also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you’ll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead in to the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program. This class runs for a consecutive six weeks with one class per week. The cost for the full six weeks is $150.

Canine Good Citizen Prep (CGCP)
This class will prepare you for the CGC Testing. The testing will occur on the last day of class. Any dog over 6 months old may join this class. We recommend that you complete an Adolescent/Adult Manners class before joining this class, although it is not required.
This class runs for 6 consecutive weeks with one class per week. Cost is $150 for the full six weeks.
Adolescent Manners
This is our beginners class where you will learn the foundations of communication with your dog. Your dog should be between the ages of 6 months to 1 year. We will teach you how to help your dog make better choices. We also teach loose leash walking, heel, sit/stay, down/stay, recall (come cue), and building attention skills. We teach life communication skills that will help build your relationship.
This class is six consecutive weeks and costs $150.

Adult Manners
This is our beginners class where you will learn the foundations of communication with your dog. Your dog should be at least 1 year old. We will teach you how to help your dog make better choices. We also teach loose leash walking, heel, sit/stay, down/stay, recall (come cue), and building attention skills. We teach life communication skills that will help build your relationship.
This class is six consecutive weeks and costs $150.
